Shoprite Checkers Group, a leading retailer in South Africa, continues to roll out its renewable energy programme as part of its goal to power 25% of operations with renewable energy by 2027. As part of this effort, Sosimple Energy installed a rooftop solar PV system at Shoprite Hillbrow located in Johannesburg’s inner-city. The system includes generator integration for reliable power during grid downtimes to enhance operational reliability and energy efficiency at the site. Additionally, the property owner benefits from additional rooftop rental income, boosting their non-GLA earnings.
